Friends, like everyone else, we’re playing it day by day, and right now for the safety and heath of our employees and clients we’ve decided to temporarily close our brick and mortar stores. In an effort to keep the lights on and my team employed we will be doing store visits by appointment only. Please know that my team is coming to work only if they want to (please do not be judgmental, not everyone has the privilege of going without pay). I have assured them that they won’t be penalized for staying home, and we will be practicing social distancing by limiting the number of folks in the store at a time.

You can still visit us online 24 hours a day at www.shoplcd.co and we are working on a special promotion to help raise money for folks who are chronically ill and unable to acquire their necessities during this time of need.

I started collaborating with Sandy on an exclusive fleece early this past summer, when Izzy had already been diagnosed with her second cancer, a malignant nasal sarcoma (her first was a spindle cell tumor in her leg). I wanted to name our fleece after her because she brings such happiness to everyone who visits our shops, with her puppy-like energy and full body tail wags — not to mention her propensity to knock every thing down in her eagerness to say hello. Izzy had been doing very well post-radiation, with a CT scan in July showing some shrinkage in her tumor.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Unfortunately last week, right after the launch of her namesake fleece, I found out Izzy’s cancer has progressed. She’s currently undergoing a second round of more intensive radiation treatment at the amazing @vetcancergroup which will conclude today.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Tomorrow, we invite you and your furry baby to come by LCD @ROWDTLA between 2-5pm to give Izzy some belly rubs, enjoy micheladas and bites by @zehrahmed and get your dog (or cat!)’s aura photographed by @thekindaura.
